Event Date:
Thursday, March 15, 2012 (All day)

Bath Spa University and University of Bath are hosting a joint FREE Equality Forum on 15th March 2012 at Newton Park (marquee outside moreton) at Bath Spa University, Newton St Loe, Bath, BA2 9BN.

Aspects of equality and diversity in sport are used as a platform for exploring the university context, with a particular focus on creating opportunities for people with protected characteristics to succeed.

Throughout the day you will:

  • Learn more about the equalities work of Bath Spa University and University of Bath.
  • Listen to the sprinter and Paralympic silver medallist Ben Rushgrove, who will talk about the opportunities that led him to achieve success in his sport. Ben will also be taking questions from the audience on this topic.
  • Network with university students and employees, locally based equality groups and local employers.

The day aims to be both enjoyable and informative and encourage debate on equality issues, promote better understanding and increase the links between, the universities and the community. It will also be an opportunity for local public sector employers to learn how Bath Spa University and the University of Bath have responded to recent equality legislation and consider how it may inform your response.
